Religious Education

The St. Mary of the Assumption Parish Religious Education Program is an essential part of the mission of the parish. The parish supports the parents of the children who are the primary teachers of the faith. The goal of the program is to form the students to be disciples of Jesus Christ, capable of living life with Catholic-Christian values.

The program used in our Kindergarten through Grade 8 program is published by Ignatius Press - Image of God for Kindergarten and Faith and Life used in grades 1-8 and is rooted in the Sunday celebration of the Eucharist where the entire parish draws strength from both word and Sacrament.  We look to establish the foundation learning and understanding of the doctrines of our Catholic faith and allow the children to grow in the wisdom and understanding as dictated by their age and learning abilities.  Classes are scheduled so as to allow the entire family to attend Mass either before or after classes, and thus put our faith into action through participation in the weekly celebration of the Eucharist.

The Religious Education Program is intended for the children of our parish who attend schools that do not have formal religious education. Because we use a “whole community” catechesis model, the Religious Education Program provides educational opportunities for the parents.  Use the link below to register your child, or stop by the rectory to complete your registration process.
